Treatments

We aim to manage the cause of your disorder rather than just treat your symptoms - identification and resolution of factors which drive reoccurrence, are vital to long term success.

Initially, we will establish the history of your problem, then undertake a thorough clinical examination resulting in a diagnosis and specific appropriate individual management plan.

At the end of your first session you will have a clear idea of the problem, will have started your treatment and have a clear plan of what needs to be achieved. You will also have commenced a specific individual home exercise programme to help maintain the progress made in therapy.

If at the end of the assessment, we decided that another approach would be better, then we can help liaise with the relevant professionals to get you referred on.

Manual Therapy

Skilled palpation and ultimately application of direction specific graded movement, which restore the ‘foundation’ of movement. These facilitate better quality of movement and improve the efficacy of home exercise. Ultimately enabling progression and application to better movement and exercise patterns for rehabilitation and finally more efficient lifestyle, sport and technique.

Education – Movement – Specific Exercises – Lifestyle Changes

This is not a passive approach and to facilitate the best outcomes we need full patient co-operation. This can only occur if the patient understands what is expected of them and why.

Movement is re-educated and specific homework given to re-enforce the necessary changes. This self-management is adapted and changed according to the level of progress. The hope being, that by this graded, specific approach, that you will achieve and maintain the goals you had established initially.
