Musculoskeletal screening–be Pro-active not Reactive!
Prevention is better than cure! Athletes are screened annually to check for any motor facilitate control or dysfunction issues. Early screening interventions often enable better self management with less therapist intervention. The problems have less time to become ingrained into the body. This approach is not encouraged generally (perhaps because of the concern that it may create hypervigilance) but the discrepancy is that if you are going for gold it is ok to be pro-active and interested in your physical health – but is the role of “bread-winner” any less important?
