Physiotherapy is the combined approach to soft tissue, neural and joint mobilisation, manipulation and exercise. The specific tailored approach to the rehabilitation process will involve the client at all times.
Physiotherapy is unique in its complete assessment of the three important systems within the musculoskeletal problems; the joints, the muscles and the nerves. The assessment is then combined into an integral treatment process, as our long-term goal is to prevent the chance of reoccurrence by patient education, understanding and participation. The approach is not passive and you will play an active role in your rehabilitation from the first session.
A thorough initial assessment would usually take up to an hour and any follow up routine treatments will take up to 30 minutes.
Not at all, a doctor’s referral is not needed for physiotherapy, however it is important to work closely with your GP in certain circumstances.
24 hours notice is required for cancellations or non attendance of all appointments, otherwise a non attendance fee will be charged.
Our current opening hours are:
If calling the clinic during these hours and you are connected to an answer phone, we may be busy at that time so please leave your name & number and we will call you back as soon as possible.
Its best to wear something loose and comfortable like sports wear. It is usual that in order to assess the problem thoroughly that you will be required to undress so that the Physiotherapist is able to accurately assess the location and any movement issues present. Vest tops and shorts are useful.
At Arfon Physiotherapy, your initial assessment & treatment costs £55 and further treatment sessions cost £40.
